Volksgarten Salzburg – A park for everyone. And almost everything.
What can you do here? Quite a lot. Just doing nothing – that's especially easy here. There are plenty of benches to lounge on and enough shade for hot days, or the SalzBeach for sunbathing on 1000m2 of sand. Ducks, ice cream, and espresso: for some, it's feeding the ducks at the pond, for others, it's an iced coffee in the shade. If you're up for more: Cult in the Volksgarten serves snacks with a view of the greenery, and the Volksgarten Kiosk is a must-stop for anyone who loves Aperol with a view.
Jogging? Yoga in the green? Or would you prefer pure action with beach volleyball, calisthenics, a bouldering wall, and streetball? There's even a soccer cage. Oh, and of course, you can just play ball too.

Cult highlights: open-air cinema under the stars, the legendary winter festival, Mini Salzburg, live DJs, and food trucks that taste like wanderlust—there's always something going on at the Volksgarten. It's best to just drop by—spontaneity is the name of the game here. Need to cool off? Head to the outdoor pool! The Volksgartenbad is a true Salzburg classic. Two large pools, an extra children's area, 13,000 m² of space for sunbathing, towels, novels, and red and white fries.
And in winter? Ice time deluxe! Two large ice rinks (one even covered), plus an extra ice rink through the romantic grounds for gliding along and feeling nostalgic. Salzburg just knows how to do it, in summer and winter alike.

For the kids: Lots of fun with slides, a carousel, sand, swings, and climbing frames. Pure exercise—and space to run around without anyone shouting “Shhh!” Meanwhile, parents can look forward to the nearest park bench within sight. Nature meets sustainability: Incidentally, the Volksgarten is also home to protected animal species. Extra bat roosts, amphibian hotels, and ecological refuges show that even a city park can be wild—in a good way.
Conclusion: The Volksgarten can be quiet—but also really wild. Full of possibilities, but without any obligations. Volksgarten? It makes it easy—for everyone. And almost everything.
